Silicon

Silicon is a chemical element, and the Chemical symbol is Si. The Atomic number is 14 and the relative atomic mass is 28.0855. There are two Allotropy, amorphous silicon and crystalline silicon. They belong to the third period on the periodic table, the Metalloid element of IVA family.

Silicon is also an extremely common element, but it rarely appears in the form of a single substance in nature. Instead, it is widely present in rocks, gravel, and dust in the form of complex silicates or silica. Silicon ranks eighth in reserves in the universe. In the crust, it is the second most abundant element, accounting for 26.4% of the total mass of the crust, second only to the first oxygen (49.4%).
