Diatomaceous earth is a type of siliceous rock mainly distributed in countries such as China, the United States, Japan, Denmark, France, Romania, etc. It is a biogenic siliceous Sedimentary rock, mainly composed of the remains of ancient diatoms. Its chemical composition is mainly SiO2, which can be expressed as SiO2 · nH2O, and its mineral composition is Opal and its varieties. China has 320 million tons of diatomaceous earth reserves, with a prospective reserve of over 2 billion tons, mainly concentrated in the eastern and northeastern regions of China. Among them, Jilin, Zhejiang, Yunnan, Shandong, Sichuan and other provinces have larger scale and larger reserves.
The chemical composition of diatomaceous earth is mainly SiO2, containing a small amount of Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO, MgO, and organic matter.
The industrial filler of diatomite can be used in agricultural medicine: wettable powder, dry land herbicide, paddy field herbicide and various Biopesticide.
